French grammar rules?

Pieter Jansegers is , he says, pleased to see that French grammar maintains its place on the curriculum, and wants to start a social network to discuss it. Regrettably, though his initial messaage appeared last August, no-one has seen fit to join in.

La grammaire française est assez stable, et pourtant, les grammairiens ne s’accordent pas toujours entre eux.

Quelle est votre référence pour trancher les difficultés et subtilité de la langue française ?

    Thanks for the article.

I’ve just discovered that the likehood of finding my ning on French grammar isn’t very high anymore. For some reason, you just can’t find it through the search function on ning.

Bizarre, anyway I ‘m not dispirited yet. Grammar is back in France, thus in this and five year it will be a worldwide debate.

It’s right you don’t have to know everything before you can speak a language.

But for English, only near native speaker levels are acceptable for speech and just about the same for writing it.

For French, this was the case too, some ten years ago.

It will come back, because French will distinguish once more the elite from the common people.

English will be the lingua franca, French will play the role of lingua nobilis.
